Host A Heavenly Treasures Pop-Up Shop

6 years ago written by

Heavenly Treasures — an affiliate of Free Methodist World Missions since 2000 — invites individuals and churches to host a pop-up event at their church, women’s event, community gathering or even in their homes. The holidays are just around the corner, and Heavenly Treasures is a perfect go-to for unique and beautiful gifts.

This year, Heavenly Treasures celebrates 20 years of supporting and working with artisans all over the world. This faith-based organization ministers to people by providing economic development in countries that are in need. Through the medium of handicraft products, Heavenly Treasures even serves as a foot-in-the-door for missionaries going into restrictive countries.

“If [a missionary] goes in and teaches them how to do jewelry or ornaments, then they can enter [a country] without any problems,” said Kathy Gaulton, the founder and chief executive officer of Heavenly Treasures.

With each purchase of a product, Heavenly Treasures enables impoverished artisans to maintain an ongoing business throughout the year.

“We give 100 percent of sales back to the artisans,” said Caroline Sakanashi, Heavenly Treasures’ director of retail merchandising.

All Heavenly Treasures products are owned by the organization, and each time merchandise is sold, the money is used to reinvest into new products for the following year. Currently, the Heavenly Treasures Network consists of more than 50 microenterprise livelihood projects in 17 different countries.

Sakanashi explained that Heavenly Treasures is “missions at all levels. People can shop, give money, or come, or network. Missions is not scary; it can be fun!”

Heavenly Treasures allows for individuals or churches to become partners with artisans from all over the world. A person doesn’t have to travel to another country to help support a ministry. Rather, mobilize your communities to change one person’s life by buying products through Heavenly Treasures.

You can be an ambassador for the artisans. Start by hosting your own home or church party with Heavenly Treasures. For more information on how to host a pop-up shop, contact Caroline Sakanashi via email or by calling 626-963-7717.
